Overview
1Password functions as a password management tool, offering users a secure location to store a wide array of passwords, software licenses, and other confidential data.
1Password uses a master password known only to the user to access the stored passwords and information. It encrypts and decrypts the data locally on the user's device, ensuring that even 1Password itself doesn't have access to the actual passwords or sensitive information.
Passwords are contained in vaults and can be Private or Shared. Vaults provide an additional layer of security and organization within 1Password, allowing users to manage and control their sensitive information more effectively while sharing and collaborating securely when needed.
This article provides the steps to get started and set up your 1Password account.
| Note:
Access to the vaults is set on the Vault permissions by the IT Admin. If you need access to specific vaults, please submit a request to IT Support. |
