Issue

When trying to access the VICIdial site, the message "This site can't be reached" is displayed.

Workaround

• Manually update the hosts file.

The procedure outlined below is a workaround to allow agents/users to regain access to VICIdial. A permanent solution has been implemented in order to prevent any re-occurrence. In case the issue happens again, follow the workaround as described below. 

1. Run Notepad as Administrator [Right-click on Notepad > Run as administrator]. 
   
   
   
   
2. Open the file C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts.
   
   For Mac OS:
   1. Open the Terminal app (see How to Open a Terminal on Mac).
   2. Type the following to open the hosts file: 
      sudo nano/private/etc/hosts
      
      
3. Add the following entries:
   • 45.76.20.97 sccs1.smartercallcentersolutions.com
   • 149.28.126.156 sccs2.smartercallcentersolutions.com
   • 66.42.116.187 sccs3.smartercallcentersolutions.com
   
   Windows 
   
   
   Mac
   
   
   
4. Save the file.
5. Try to access the site.
